Aftercare Information

Aftercare is crucial for preserving the beauty and longevity of your henna or Jagua art. Follow the following instructions to ensure your designs stay vibrant and lasting.

  • Ingredients & Colour

Contains Henna Powder, Cajeput Oil, Water & Sugar. The final colour will depend on your skin and body chemistry with darker colours appearing on the hands and feet.

  • Testing

A skin test is recommended to avoid any reactions due to individual sensitivity. Place an amount on the skin, allow to set/dry and wait 24 hours before using in full.

  • Storage

Our cones are freshly prepared and are perishable. They must be kept in a freezer in an airtight container (for up to 6 months). Take out to thaw an hour before application (max. 3 thaws).

  • Applying Henna

Ensure your skin is clean and free from oils and lotions as these can hinder stain development. Henna should be left for an average of 6-12 hours (minimum 3 hours).

  • Removing Henna

Do not use water to remove the henna as this reduces the chance of a dark stain. Use oil instead to wash.

  • Henna Stain

Henna will appear bright orange at first; the stain will deepen to a dark, rich, reddish brown tone over 48 hours. Exfoliation of the skin, swimming and saunas may hinder the longevity of the stain.

  • Ingredients & Colour

Contains Jagua Powder, Xanthan Gum, Water, Rose Water, Eucalyptus Oil. The final colour will depend on your skin and body chemistry with darker colours appearing on the hands and feet.

  • Testing & Allergens

A Patch Test is required a month before application. Jagua should not be used if you have fruit allergies, extremely sensitive skin or G6PD. Not suitable for children under 6 or during pregnancy/breast-feeding.

  • Applying Henna

Leave the gel on the skin for a minimum of 3 hours. Wrap or tape up for 8 hours for an intense stain. The stain will appear light and can take 48 hours to fully develop.

  • Removing Henna

Wash the gel off with warm, soapy water.

  • Henna Stain

The stain may last for up to 3 weeks. The depth of the colour depends on the chemistry between individual skin type and the gel cone.
